Manitoba government introduces election bill to ban ‘deep fakes’ and other misinformation during campaigns

The bill proposed by the Manitoba government aims to enhance efforts to combat election disinformation, tying itself to existing legal frameworks and aimed at ensuring the integrity and trustworthiness of elections. The proposal emphasizes the need to address the ongoing impact of false statements on voter confidence.
