The Karnataka Misinformation and Fake News Prohibition Bill, 2025,/1/2/ is a significant legal move to tackle one of India’s most pervasive problems: fake news. The bill was heard with deliberations expected to conclude in a week, following legislative debate. The aim is to create a framework that balances the need for accountability with the practical realities of maintaining internet safety and public order.
