Dr. RN Mishra, the joint commissioner of police for Gautam Budh Nagar, articulated this concern with a sense of urgency. He spoke of a dedicated team, meticulously sifting through the digital noise on platforms like X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Instagram, not to stifle legitimate discourse, but to identify and address those who intentionally sow discord with unverified videos and information. The DM’s vision extends further to a more sustainable model of industrial harmony. It’s about nipping potential conflicts in the bud, ensuring that minor disagreements don’t escalate into major disruptions. This sustained engagement is vital because it builds trust and understanding, preventing issues from festering. Moreover, her direct plea to the public to trust “authorized and verified information” is a recognition of the collective responsibility needed to combat misinformation. It’s a call for discernment, urging individuals to question what they see and hear online, and to prioritize official channels for accurate updates. A meeting in Sector 6 brought together prominent figures like Vipin Malhan of the Noida Entrepreneurs Association and Lalit Thukral of the Noida Apparel Export Cluster, alongside CEO Krishna Karunesh, Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, and DM Medha Roopam. Their presence signified a collective commitment to resolving the ongoing conflict, with the entrepreneurs assuring their support in finding solutions. MKS Sundaram further elaborated on the state government’s commitment to worker welfare, painting a detailed picture of the new labor codes and their practical provisions. He spoke of “guaranteed minimum wage, timely and full wage payment, equal pay for equal work, extra payment for overtime, regulation of working hours, prohibition of exploitation, social security (EPF and ESI), gratuity,” and even extending social security coverage to “unorganised and gig workers.” These aren’t just abstract legal terms; they are the bedrock of human dignity and fair treatment in the workplace. He stressed the importance of job security, legal compensation in case of retrenchment, safe workplaces, weekly holidays, and specific provisions for women workers, all underpinned by an effective grievance redressal mechanism. The message from Labour Commissioner Markandey Shahi echoed the DM’s earlier plea, once again urging all stakeholders to rely solely on official sources for information and to resist the allure of rumors, misleading messages, or unverified content on social media. In essence, the authorities are not just responding to an immediate crisis but are actively building a more robust and equitable industrial future, one that values both economic progress and the welfare of its human capital, all while striving to ensure that truth prevails in an increasingly noisy digital world.
