Yoon Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi: Divorce Rumors Were False — The Couple Says, “We Are Living Happily Together” [Comprehensive]

It’s understandable how easily rumors can swirl, especially when public figures seem to drop off the radar, even for a short while. We’ve seen this happen with beloved comedian couple Yoon Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi, who recently found themselves at the center of divorce speculations. But rest assured, the couple themselves have stepped forward, unequivocally dispelling these unfounded claims, and offering a glimpse into the realities of their long-standing, cherished marriage.

The recent flurry of rumors seems to have stemmed from their relative absence from joint variety show appearances. Yoon Hyung-bin, a well-known face in the Korean entertainment industry, addressed these whispers head-on during an appearance on the YouTube variety show “B-Class Hearing.” When host Choi Seong-min, another familiar comedian, playfully but pointedly asked, “Have you divorced?”, Yoon Hyung-bin’s reaction was a mix of surprise and good-natured exasperation. He immediately shot down the suggestion, clarifying, “What are you talking about? We are doing well, so why ask that?” This direct and immediate denial left no room for ambiguity, clearly stating that their marriage is not only intact but thriving.

Choi Seong-min, perhaps sensing the public’s curiosity, then elaborated on the genesis of these rumors, noting, “Since the two of you have been inactive for too long, rumors have spread that you might be in a marriage of convenience.” It’s an interesting observation, highlighting how the public narrative can take on a life of its own in the absence of constant visibility. Yoon Hyung-bin, with characteristic candor, delved into the reasons behind their reduced joint appearances. He explained, “(It’s fine for me to appear on variety shows together,) but my wife doesn’t like it.” He further elaborated with a touch of humor, “Whenever we both appear, she ends up saying negative things about me, which makes it funny, doesn’t it? That’s why I’ve been declining offers.” This candid explanation paints a picture of a couple whose dynamic, while perhaps not always harmonious on-screen, is rooted in a deep understanding and a shared sense of humor. It also suggests that Jung Kyung-mi, despite being a comedian herself, might prefer to keep certain aspects of their marital life out of the public eye, especially if it involves playfully disparaging her husband for comedic effect.

Choi Seong-min then playfully reminisced about their past, recalling, “In the past, you used to do ‘Jung Kyung-mi Forever,’ but now that you aren’t appearing together, divorce rumors are coming up.” This points to the public’s longing to see the couple interact, a testament to their popularity. Yoon Hyung-bin, with wisdom that comes from years of experience in both marriage and public life, offered a profound insight into the nature of long-term relationships. He concluded, “As you’ll know once you get married, it’s not about blazing hot love, but rather like a clay pot — present yet seemingly absent.” This beautiful analogy perfectly encapsulates the mature and enduring love that characterizes many long-term marriages. It’s not always about grand gestures or passionate declarations, but rather a quiet, steadfast presence that underpins daily life. Like a clay pot, it may not always be overtly flashy, but it holds and nourishes, providing a stable foundation that is essential and comforting.

Earlier, Jung Kyung-mi herself had taken the opportunity to address these very rumors. On the KBS 2TV variety program “Malja Show,” which aired on the 16th, she directly confronted the speculations about discord in their marriage. She stated, “Recently, because of something Yoon Hyung-bin said on YouTube, articles came out saying things like ‘I can’t stand seeing Jung Kyung-mi’ and ‘They seemed to be living well, but now there are divorce rumors.’ We are doing very well. We are living very happily.” Her statement provided a powerful affirmation, reinforcing her husband’s earlier claims and adding her own voice to the narrative of a happy and thriving marriage. Her response to a playful question about visiting Yoon Hyung-bin’s house was equally reassuring: “I came well yesterday.” She then clarified, leaving no room for doubt, “Nothing is wrong between us. We are really doing well.” These direct and heartfelt statements from both Yoon Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi should put to rest any lingering doubts about the state of their union. They are not only together but are by all accounts, genuinely content.

Yoon Hyung-bin and Jung Kyung-mi tied the knot in 2013, a significant year that marked the beginning of their journey as husband and wife. Over the years, their family has grown, bringing them immense joy with the addition of one beloved son and one cherished daughter. Their narrative is a powerful reminder that while public figures live under intense scrutiny, the realities of their personal lives often differ greatly from the speculative narratives that emerge. Their marriage, now over a decade strong, is a testament to enduring love, mutual respect, and the quiet joys of building a family together. It’s a story of a couple navigating the complexities of public life while nurturing a private bond that remains strong and true, proving that a love like a “clay pot” is precisely the kind that endures the test of time.
