**Richard Jue, the Chief of Staff of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, has been charged with two misdemeanors related to an alleged run-in with a parked Tesla on March 4, according to an interior operation of the San Francisco Department of.Chain Link. Jue was reported to be at a parked vehicle on southbound Diamond Heights Blvd near Duncan Street but was off-duty and driving a sheriff’s vehicle. His initial report, filed on March 4, stated that he had been a victim of an unknown hit-and-run in a parking lot, while a second report filed on March 5 attributed the collision to Jue and admitted that he caused the incident without leaving a note. TheWoman’s Tesla was identified as a total loss, and Jue was allegedly providing false information to the police intended to trick them into arresting him. Jue was arrested on March 8 on suspicion of being involved in a collision and providing false information, along with a fourth minor offense related to malpractice. He has been granted $7,500 bail and is being booked into San Francisco County Prison. Jue is set to be scheduled for arraignment at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Hall of Justice, where he will contest the allegations. His eventual release from jail will depend on a review of bail bonds and trial proceedings. While the exact consequences of Jue’s charge remain unclear, it appears that theSheriff’s Office andRACT partnered to improve the oversight ofChain Link operations after Jue was charged as part of a paired operation. The incident has not occurred again, and Jue is set to serve as a witness in any eventual case related to the collision. The charges continue to raise questions about the integrity and transparency of Chain Link ownership and management, potentially impacting the questioning of J’s past conduct. The full details of the case are set to unfold, with each charge being a step in a broader effort to prevent similar events in the future. Jue has committed a vulnerable act of lawfulness, potentially revealing the depth of issues within the Chain Link system. The charges of the two misdemeanors are justified, and it is hoped that theSheriff’s Office will bring the matter to justice while benefiting the community from this oversight.
