PTI Effurun Refutes Allegations of Decay, Labels SaharaReporters’ Story False and Malicious

The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, is searching for students and staff who may be under the influence of SaharaReporters’ controversial article, titled “Despite ₦39 Billion Budget, Students at Nigeria’s Petroleum Training Institute Study in Flooded Classrooms, Snake-Infested Hostels.” The institute’s response to the publication indicated a commitment to maintaining the safety and structure of its campus, despite the allegations. It stated the report was factually inaccurate andGenerated malicious and misleading content.

The PYT explained that the publication was a deliberate lie, calling it “false, malicious, and deliberately misleading.” The institute pointed out that it had appropriate faculty members who remained concerned about safety and taught rigorous hygiene and safety protocols. It also emphasized the stability of the campus, with 20 hours of guaranteed power from both public supply and industrial-grade generators, and said all operations are conducted within the utmost respect for public protocols and best practice conditions.

The PYT expressed its determination to follow rules and law, holding SaharaReporters responsible for false information. It called for a complete monetary retraction of the article and a formal apology from SaharaReporters within 48 hours. The institute also accused SaharaReporters of attempting to smear the institution and undermine its progress. It reiterated the importance of journalistic responsibility and clarification to avoid generating further Universities.

The PYT emphasized that the group had already accepted its responsibilities and steps, including hosting students from around the world. It also noted that the Africa Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) and the Republic of Niger had approved visits to its campus for training purposes. Finally, the institute reiterates its possessiveness aboutCourse and and its unwavering commitment to nurturing students for the oil and gas industry.
