The clarification follows after the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare rolled out a public health initiative aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles and combating the growing burden of obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes and heart disease.

The Ministry removed recent misleading media claims targeting common snacks like Samosas, Jalebi, and Laddoo, stating that these assumptions were based on incorrect information about food products.
