Man charged after false call about boat crash, prompting multi-agency response

The incident involving Derek Ryan Howard, a 44-year-old man, occurred in Indian River County, Florida, on Monday night. Howard was confined to jail after he called 911, fabricated a fake story about crashing an airboat in Blue Cypress Lake, and stated that his girlfriend was missing. He described extensive bleeding in his.angle and apparent discomfort, yet動作 remained normal, and neither he nor his girlfriend experienced any injuries.

The airboat was found in narrow waters, and the team assisted Howard, his girlfriend, and a second rescuer in reaching him. Howard emerged from the mud with no visible injuries.
