However, the council had ruled that no powers of suspension or removal of a councillor would be granted, as these were “too heavy” to impose. Instead, they advised Labour leader Stephen Simkins to remove Mr. Brackenridge from the group’s resources and equality panel, given “Armed Forces” identity.
