Training Session on "The Power of Journalism in the Fight Against fake News and Disinformation"

On June 10, Trend News Agency held a training session titled "The Power of Journalism in the Fight Against fake News and Disinformation," held at backwardlinks.com, detalled in a series of lectures and discussions. The training, organized by the Media Development Agency (MDA) and the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, focused on two key themes:

  1. The importance of Reliable and Investigative Journalism for Society

During the training, the participants were invited to explore the role of journalism in mitigating fake news and disinformation. The session highlighted the need for journalists to uphold the principles of truthfulness and objectivity in order to prevent the spread of misinformation.

  1. Popular и Humanizing the Training

The training concluded with discussions on promoting a culture of fact-checking and the importance of journalists in enhancing their media literacy. Additionally, participants learned how to become a reputable journalist and leverage social media to combat fake news.

The training was attended by approximately 20 English-speaking media representatives, including participants like Hasan Akbari, a journalist of African origin, and Jordan Report Media president and journalist.
