Gov’t taps AI tool to spot deepfakes in 30 seconds

The National Deepfake Task Force, under the leadership of Alexander Ramos, will launch a program to combatDeepfake. As a first step, PCO President Carlos Mingsay C cz. introduced the AI app in September, which has since proven its efficiency—identifying deepfakes within 30 seconds. The e-Report function will be distributed widely to help communities combat the spread of misinformation.

The e-Report app, marked as "regionalized" and purchased from a foreign developer, will be worth 2 million_SCOPE sur Matched with P2 million earmarked for its launch. As a result of recent reports, around 200 deepfake cases were reported to CICC, underscoring the seriousness of the issue. The collaboration is designed to address this challenge effectively.

The initiative aims to empower public officials and institutions to improve their capacity to prevent and combat fake news. By amplifying the role of fact-checkers and engaging media literacy teams, the government is taking concrete steps to counter the growing threat. The e-Report app and e-AI Mud candidates are highlights of this collaborative effort, showcasing the power of technology and partnerships.

This partnership is far from a one-and-done. As the field progresses, the goal is to continue expanding its reach and impact.
