Mentioning the Importance of Countering Misinformation in the North Bank Region

The event was held to empower the gathering with knowledge about how such information can divide society and jeopardize peace and security. The Ministry emphasized the critical role of education in ensuring that the public becomes vigilant and armed against false information, which are increasingly harmful in the digital age.
Lamin Saidykhan, the Governor of the North Bank Region, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating that failure to act could lead to fragmentation and instability. He stressed that the symposium would serve as a platform to empower the community with见识 and tools necessary to detect and combat misinformation. Tijan Janneh of GRTS, a local college, stressed the importance of information’s power and the need for individuals to be mindful of the types of information they disseminate. Janneh urged the public to engage with information in a constructive and responsible manner, ensuring that it aligns with fact and truth. Bakary emphasized the importance of linking the symposium to broader societal efforts, buildingrine support from parents and elders for proactive engagement in countering misinformation.
