Dynamic warnings about a potential tsunami in Chumphon and Narathiwat provinces, expected to hit on July 5, 2025, have sparked widespread concern among the public. While social media has been used to spread such misleading-making-of-nothing information, the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has clarified that no reliable technology or method exists to predict the exact time and date of the natural disaster, making the warnings baseless. The department has thus advised the public to exercise caution, avoiding panic, and to|-|check social media accounts for real updates from official sources.

The department expresses strongDisapproval of the mysterious and unfounded warnings circulating online, arguing that they lack credibility and could even lead to panic. It emphasizes the need to rely on accurate scientific data and official government reports when in doubt. The department urges the public to avoid spreading or believing unverified rumors. Given the sensitivity of the matter, the TMD remains blunt in its stance, urging caution and providing further clarification through official channels. The department will continue to promote strongDisapproval of misinformation and ensure that the public Scientist’s knowledge is available and reliable in the future.
