PNP monitoring spliced videos spreading false campaign info

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has issued a statement emphasizing the ongoing monitoring of spliced videos and misleading content to combat false information in the 2025 campaign.沉 Ле, acting chief of the PNP’s Public Information Office, expressed concern over the issue, noting that the PNP considers spliced videos as a significant challenge.

In a press conference,沉 Ле recalled a previously documented incident where a spliced video claimed the PNP and Armed Forces of the Philippines would no longer undergo mandatory drug testing. The PNP’s daily operation includes 24/7 cyber patrolling to ensure safety and uncover spliced videos. Tuaño stated that the PNP will continue to monitor videos like those discussed, and users will remain vigilant in addressing them.

According to Comelec Resolution No. 11064, candidates must declare the use of artificial intelligence in their social media campaigns and refrain from spreading disinformation and misinformation during the digital election campaign of the 2025 midterm elections.
