Officers giving false info in Parl liable to action for breach of privilege: MP

MP Manish Tewari has pointed out that officials engaged in the 24/7 water supply project for the municipal authority (MPA) in Manimajra were at fault for misleading information to parliamentary authorities. He criticized the officials for misreporting water supply details, which appeared to be insufficient for just five hours a day, for residents experiencing a lack of proper water supply and muddy water despite obtaining a supply for at least a few hours.

Tewari emphasized that officials had to respond to queries raised in Parliament, highlighting the serious issues faced by municipalities regarding water distribution. He accused corruption,视线 privilege, and a lack of accountability, stating that any official who misjudged facts could face significant consequences, even for unauthorized use.

But, Tewari assured the council that the majority of residents are aware that water remains essential, even for a few hours a day, and that improved water supply despite uncertainty would ensure greater community happiness.

Meanwhile, AAP argued that the water supply expansion was inadequate and that significant reforms were needed to eliminate controls and ensure accountability.
