Elon Musk and seven members of his ” department of government efficiency” threw a rare interview on Thursday evening on Fox News, defending their efforts amid public backlash and concern over cuts to key government agencies. The interview was attended by Bret Baier, who questioned their actions and tried to ease fears about doge’s targeting of sensitive agencies like the Social Security Administration. Musk and the doge team repeatedly tried to alleviate fears by downplaying the number of cuts and falsely claiming only a small number of government employees would be fired. They also emphasized their role in dismantling initiatives like USAID and redistributing salaries. The doge team claimed their efforts were vital to the government’s survival and had taken key positions in various government agencies. Musk mentioned renaming government websites after reports of website crashes and increasing benefits for recipients. Other doge members explained their previous work as tech executives, inspired by Silicon Valley. Musk and his team have attempted to show their credibility, using phrases like “worthless” and “materially affecting.” The doge is facing chemical reviews and lawsuits, and legislative backing has$GLOBALS accusations. Many doge members have also criticized their approach for siloing their team, excluding public records and managing sensitive agencies remotely. Doge employees have resigned, including Edward Coristine, who provided tech support to a gang, and Marko Elez, who resigned after joining a Supat least in part to work on doge government data. Doge has also faced scrutiny for its Alphabet-like culture and delayed personnel changes to arrive at subjects critical of the government system. Polling shows widespread disapproval of the initiative, with most Americans holding a negative view of Tesla CEO. Musk has admitted to losing $100bn from X after a stock crash. Texting and social media have been tools for doge, as their social media handles have been public.
