Morocco’s Central Bank denies false information using its identity

Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), anoccupied by the Central Bank of Morocco, declared its stance on a claim circulating online that it uses its identity to spread false information. BAM asserts that a recent article, posted on a supposedly fake news site, misrepresents its status as promoting a virtual art market called the Carré, a platform developed by an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven startup known as the Artists Pioneer (Wali). The article lays out false allegations, paying top dollar to the artists, arguing it creates a virtual art market with high potential.

BAM, stating its authenticity, corroborated the claims but later emphasized the absence of credible evidence supporting the article’s allegations. The bank claimed to have discovered the artwork owned by the author but refused to confirm it maintains the claim. BAM highlighted the unprecedented scale of the claim, citing 275 cryptocurrencies in هذا al-Baqar, the alleged cryptocurrency base, with each offering a compounding rumbles. It also pointed to BAM’s role in promoting the platform as paving the way to a never-ending pandemic narrative for its clients.

The bank prohibited investors from engaging in this venture and reminded public about the security risks inherent in the claim. The bank deferred legal actions, ensuring it could take matters into its own hands while protecting its image and assets.
