A reverse image search revealed that the footage originated from a June 2023 incident near Santiago, the Chilean capital. AFP News Agency had previously reported on the collision, which involved a freight train and a test locomotive, resulting in the tragic deaths of two people and injuries to nine others. The video in the false posts was identical to footage captured and published by AFP at the time of the Chilean accident.
