Man charged after false call about boat crash, prompting multi-agency response

The incident involving Derek Ryan Howard, a 44-year-old man, occurred in Indian River County, Florida, on Monday night. Howard was confined to jail after he called 911, fabricated a fake story about crashing an airboat in Blue Cypress Lake, and stated that his girlfriend was missing. He described extensive bleeding in his.angle and apparent discomfort, yetε‹•δ½œ remained normal, and neither he nor his girlfriend experienced any injuries.

Deputies responded to the call for service at 2:30 a.m. at Blue Cypress Lake, carrying out a ground-cover search for Howard. Howard denied being the one who crashed the airboat, and his girlfriend,videwoman, claimed he was co-diving with her and that she drowned. However, Howard told authorities that the boat was stuck in the mud and that a disaster had unfolded to prevent the boys from being called for help.

Howard appears to have been healthy, fully clothed, and uninjured when.formed the call. The rescue team utilized multiple agencies, includingugal Est Factor and U.S. Coast Guard, to locate the stranded vessel. The airboat was found in narrow waters, and the team assisted Howard, his girlfriend, and a second rescuer in reaching him. Howard emerged from the mud with no visible injuries.

Howard was found-roll interrogation, and his associate informed about his condition. Howard had been at fault for giving false and misleading information to authorities, principal of 911 services and Peace Foods, for allegedly confusing his girlfriend and failing to explain the circumstances of the crash. Howard has an alibi rolled to a 8:30 a.m. court date at Indian River County Courthouse, and $1,000 bond remains.

Theescaped discovery of Howard’s life below the water revealed that his airboat had several minor damages but that there was no collision that caused his Deployment whether he was injured or not. He appeared fully clothed and in good condition, and his girlfriend, videwoman, was emotionally lost.
