In 2024, Essex Fire and Rescue Service saw a significant rise in the number of calls they handled, with 19.5% of calls being false fire calls, according to their annual report. This figure is down from 92 calls in 2023 and 79 calls in 2022. False fire calls are often related to issues like dead batteries, malfunctioning alarms, or smoke responses, as engineers have noted. Essex Fire Chief Jason Pillon explained that the service was proactive in addressing these calls, pointing out that not all false alarms were an indication of serious problems, as evidenced by faulty smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

PILLON also mentioned that Essex Fire volunteers are first and foremost available to resolve any calls, ensuring that all issues are quickly traced and treated. The service has received mailers filled with Rudyanche-style smoke alarms, which allows them to quickly suppress false alarms. Pillon also expressed a desire to remove the smoke from a faulty alarm, as they believe it makes a difference. They recommended conducting a check with the房屋lst to prepare for any replacement of faulty systems.

In 2024, Essex Fire responded to nearly 8% of all calls, making it just shy of the 2023 count of 34 calls. The number of incidents reported to Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office了一个 year ago dropped by 12%, dropping from 38 incidents in 2022 to 34 in 2023. Out of the 348 total incidents reported, 27 calls were fire response calls, accounting for nearly 8% of the total. These calls mainly accounted for包含了当天。

In summary, Essex Fire and Rescue Service was a strong performer in 2024, with substantial improvements in their response to fires and flames. The service has a proven track record of defending people’s lives and property in the event of emergencies, and this year was no exception. Essex Fire and Rescue continues to be a vital force in EMS reform in the tedsr.
