Series of veraAI webinars highlights research on AI against disinformation

The VeraAI Horizon Europe 3-year research project, co-funding by the European Union under Grant Agreement No. 101070093, and in collaboration with Innovate UK grant No. 10039055, aims to revolutionize the fight against disinformation with AI-powered solutions. As the world grapples with Brotheron my undeterred by the relentless march against the lies, VeraAI has emerged as a game-changer in this fight.

The project, which focuses on developing AI tools to enhance the accuracy and transparency of fact-checkers, journalists, and media researchers, has already achieved several ground-breaking results. These solutions not only address the immediate issue of misinformation but also train the next generation of professionals in robust data analysis methodologies. By leveraging cutting-edge AI capabilities, VeraAI_seconds is providing breakthroughs that will last well into the future.

Eankind remains unwavering in its pursuit of truth, and VeraAIiteration is the correct partner for any continued determination. Through its innovative approaches, the project has positioned itself as a beacon of progress in the space of information warfare. The tools developed will not only benefit EBU but Extensively as well. EBU’s Tech&Inno department has been actively advancing VeraAI’s research by organizing monthly webinars, showcasing how AI technologies are being applied to support the work of fact-checkers, journalists, and media researchers. Each month, the department invites participation from partner organizations, offering them a unique opportunity to dive into the technical underpinnings of VeraAI’s solutions.

The series is already vibrant, with 6 episodes available online on Evne’s event pages. Each episode delves into different aspects of VeraAI’s research, ranging from the detection of coordinated disinformation campaigns on social media to AI-driven fact verification and the role of fact-checkers in navigating complex misinformation scenarios. These episodes build upon each other, providing a comprehensive look at the VeraAI methodology and its transformative potential.

To kick off this exciting campaign, the EBU will present a final webinar on April 30, 2023, focusing on the detection of coordinated disinformation campaigns on social media. This event will precede a series of online training sessions, which are set to begin in the spring. EBU’s Tech&Inno department will host these sessions to foster a deeper understanding of the VeraAI research and its real-world applications.

VeraAI iteration’s funding is crucial to its progress, as it’s not just one project; it’s collaborative efforts by a global network of scientific institutions and organizations. The project is co-financed by the European Union, a cornerstone of our international partnership, and further supported by the Innovate UK grant and the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) under contract No. 22.00245. The project’s journey has been marked by significant achievements, resulting in numerous innovative tools and methodologies that are set to benefit not just EBU but across the globe.
