Meta’s Financial Health and Regulatory Struggles
During the election season in May 2025, Meta, the parent company of platforms like Facebook and Instagram, was under immediate pressure from the Philippine government to address online misinformation, fake accounts, and coordinated inauthentic behavior. Meta’s communications highlighted the need for swift action due to slow response times, especially during election times when deadlines are crucial. Aguda emphasized the importance of investment in localized moderation strategies and clear escalation channels to combat this rise in misinformation. Meta’s rapid response was expected to beh‑t—ultimately saving its business operations and preventing botanical explosions in the long term.

Social Media Alternatives and Plasticity
Given Meta’s recent challenges, Experientia introduced Experimaker, a productivity tool aimed at helping businesses prepare for future regulatory changes. The focus was on identifying risks in the business landscape and offering insights into proposals, probes, and enforcement actions that matter most to organizations. This shift toward data-driven solutions reflects Meta’s growing emphasis on transparency and predictability, ensuring consistency in business activities despite regulatory shifts.
