The Edmonds Waterfront Center and the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County are collaborating to organize a free presentation on combating online misinformation on May 15th. Stephen Prochaska, a PhD candidate and graduate research assistant at the University of Washington’s Center for an Informed Public (CIP), will lead the session. CIP’s mission emphasizes the importance of informed discourse in democracy, and this presentation will focus on preventing, identifying, and addressing online rumors. Prochaska’s expertise will be instrumental in guiding the discussion and providing practical advice.
