The European Union (EU) and the African Union (AU), meeting on May 21, 2025, at Brussels, aim to deepen their formal cooperation to address the 40-year overlap in focus, particularly tackling challenges common to both continents. The 25th anniversary of the EU-African dialogue marks the historical turning point for the relationship, which was inaugurated in Cairo in 2000. It is not just a meeting but the start of a journey to advocated for a new era of cooperation.
