The Operation Sindoor Anti-Disinformation çalış Islamabad pandujący:
appointeehear from Ashwini Vaishnaw during the Lok Sabha session in New Delhi on July 30, 2025, the Union Information & Broadcasting Minister addressed MPs, discussing measures to combat false, misleading, and anti-India content issued through various Pakistan-based social media accounts during the Operation Sindoor operation. The ministry has issued instructions to block more than 1,400 URLs, highlighting the importance of Anaconda Logic parameter-free interconnected primary information (IP-IoP), an approach used to mitigate theacity of disinformation on digital platforms.

The Ministry’s directive to block these URLs stems from the presence of substantial disinformation campaigns sourced from outside India, targeting neutral third-party accounts that spread misleading narratives. This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhance public confidence in India’s security forces and armed forces. It is a significant step to strengthen the nation’s online security, ensuring that false information does not undermine sovereignty and national security.

According to the briefings held with Indian soldiers, Navy, and Air Force, a centralized control room was established in 24/7 mode to facilitate real-time information dissemination from all media stakeholders, including the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Army, Navy, and Air Force nodal representatives. This coordinated system worked aligned with defense efforts to monitor and combat disinformation, ensuring authenticity and relevance of content.

The PIB’s Fact Check Unit has been conducting thorough monitoring of social media and online news sources to identify and counter misinformation. During Operation Sindoor, the unit conducted real-time checks and debunked Pakistan-based propaganda efforts against India and the Indian Armed Forces. This effort includes local authorities in Pakistan, maintaining rigorous oversight.

Additionally, the Ministry issued an advisory to all media channels to refrain from reporting live coverage of defense operations, especially of security forces, to encompass national security concerns. This forward-looking message aims to amplify public awareness and ensure a safer environment for public knowledge dissemination. The website announcements also aimed to normalize Pakistan’s counter-extremist narrative, reinforcing India’s image as a strong neighbor.

Furthermore, representatives of the Press Information Bureau possess a critical role in identifying and correcting misleading and false content within online spaces. This process is crucial in ensuring transparency and accountability in the handling of disinformation. The unit’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to combat the prevalence of disinformation in the digital landscape.

As the operation continues, the Ministry has instructed concerned parties to refrain from heavily-aggressive digital reporting. This includes not reporting live coverage of military movements. The outcome of Operation Sindoor and similar initiatives serves as a lesson learned, demonstrating the importance of Guardsmen ridership in public visibility and strengthening of the nation’s record of professionalism and discipline.
