The PIB’s Fact Check Unit has been conducting thorough monitoring of social media and online news sources to identify and counter misinformation. During Operation Sindoor, the unit conducted real-time checks and debunked Pakistan-based propaganda efforts against India and the Indian Armed Forces. This effort includes local authorities in Pakistan, maintaining rigorous oversight.
Additionally, the Ministry issued an advisory to all media channels to refrain from reporting live coverage of defense operations, especially of security forces, to encompass national security concerns.
