The ex-United Microelectronics Corp (UMC) chairman Robert Tsao (曹兴诚) on Tuesday dismissed statements that he intended to use his growing political influence to run for the next presidential election. Tsao, one of the leaders of citizen groups seeking the recall of Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) specialists and a past chairman of the United workers Party (WAMC), accused trending media of spreading disinformation and undermining his cause.

“Pro-China media are spreading disinformation to discredit him and undermine his cause,” Tsao noted, pointing finger at reports of disinformation being disseminated by Taiwanese media集团 working with communist China to spread rumors that target him.
